Following the conclusion of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections, a meeting was held today in Sulaymaniyah city, bringing together representatives of Election Monitoring Networks with Mr. Aamir A. Arain, Head of the Election Team at the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).

The attendees discussed the violations that occurred during the electoral process, as well as the issues with the voting devices, particularly problems with the fingerprint devices. They also addressed the issue of invalid votes, which represented approximately 9.7% in all of the region's governorates.

The attendees also touched on the issue of preventing some observers to witness the manual counting and verifying invalid ballots during the counting process.

Furthermore, the attendees highlighted an important matter that should be considered in future elections, which is the improper storage of fingerprint devices in unsuitable[spoiler environments within the warehouses designated for the election commission, which affects their functionality on election day.

At the end of the meeting, representatives of the election networks concluded that these elections were the best in recent years, with most procedures were conducted smoothly and correctly.

Finally, the attendees suggested canceling the special voting process and instead recommended having a unified electoral process.
