Ein Network for Election Monitoring and Democracy, in collaboration with the Women's Empowerment Department in Al-Diwaniyah Governorate, the Subcommittee for Supporting Women's Political Participation, and in coordination with the National Women's Directorate, organized a specialized two-day training (September 17–18). The training covered multiple topics, including electoral systems, the importance of women's participation in elections, the role of women in supporting the electoral process, and understanding how elections help protect women's rights.

The training included working groups that addressed several practical topics, notably how to counter hate speech against women, which tends to rise during election periods, as well as analyzing the role and status of women in the electoral system, developing policy mapping, and electoral system mechanisms to enhance active participation.

This activity is part of the project "Democracy and Transparency – Empowering Civic Participation and Media Freedom", funded by the European Union in partnership with the **Norwegian People’s Aid Organization. Several official entities attended the event, enhancing coordination and collaboration among stakeholders.

The training is part of the ongoing efforts of the AIN Network and the Election Monitoring Alliance to strengthen women's participation in upcoming elections and reinforce their role in the democratic process. Including the topic of electoral systems allows women to better understand laws and procedures, thereby enhancing their capacity for informed and effective participation in the electoral process.

Moreover, this training represents a step in a series of trainings organized by the Election Monitoring Alliance aimed at promoting women’s participation in elections and protecting the electoral process from hate speech and incitement
