Najaf: Ein Network Organizes Training to Enhance Women’s Participation in Elections

The Ein Election Monitoring Network in cooperation with the Women’s Empowerment Department in Najaf Governorate and the **Committee for Supporting Women Politically, organized a specialized training on September 10–11 to highlight the importance of women’s participation and strengthen their role in the electoral process.
The training comes within the framework of the Democracy and Transparency – Empowering Civic Participation and Freedom of Media Project funded by the European Union in partnership with the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA)
The sessions focused on key topics, including the importance of women’s active participation in elections, an overview of democratic systems, and an explanation of electoral mechanisms
The event was attended by representatives of several local institutions in Najaf Governorate, as well as the Deputy Governor of Najaf, who stressed during his speech that “women’s participation in elections is a cornerstone for strengthening democracy and political life in Iraq.”
This activity is part of a series of trainings implemented by the Election Monitoring Alliance across various Iraqi governorates, in coordination with the General Secretariat – National Department for the Advancement of Women, aimed at supporting women’s political participation and expanding their presence in the electoral process.
