As part of the "Democracy and Transparency: Enabling Civic Participation and Media Freedom" project, funded by the European Union in partnership with the Norwegian People's Aid (NPA), Duhok - Monday, June 23, 2025 - Ain Network, in partnership with Shams and Tammuz Networks, and with support from the European Union, organized a dialogue forum for religious leaders and social figures in Duhok Governorate. The forum was held at the Zayan Hotel in Duhok Governorate, as part of the activities of the "Democracy and Transparency: Enabling Civic Participation and Media Freedom" project. The aim is to enhance participation in the electoral process and raise awareness of the procedures of the Independent High Electoral Commission, particularly those related to updating the voter registry and ensuring free and fair elections. The session was opened with a speech by Mr. Khaled Abbas Omar, Director of the Independent Electoral Commission - Duhok Office, in which he pointed out the importance of this project and the importance of coordination between the Independent Electoral Commission, civil society organizations, religious figures, and various social activities, as well as the various activities of the Duhok Commission offices. This was followed by a welcoming speech by Dr. Abed Ali Hassan, representing the Election Monitoring Networks, who pointed out the importance of the project and its objectives and the importance of the role played by religious figures and social figures in enhancing participation and calling for broad citizen participation. Finally, the session was concluded with an open discussion dedicated to the opinions, interventions, and observations of the attendees, and concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation between the Commission
