Diyala Election Office Receives Representatives of Election Monitoring Networks and Discusses Formation of Electoral Awareness Forum

The Diyala Office of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) held its first meeting on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, to establish the Electoral Awareness Forum in the governorate. The meeting was attended by Mr. Ali Kareem Saeed, Director of the Diyala Election Office; Mr. Ali Tareq Abd, the Technical Assistant; the Head of the Political Parties Division; and coordinators from the election monitoring networks Shams, EIN, and Tammuz.

The meeting aimed to strengthen coordination between the Commission and election monitoring networks in preparation for awareness activities focused on encouraging citizens to visit registration centers and update their electoral data, ahead of the upcoming Iraqi Council of Representatives elections scheduled for November 11, 2025.

Mr. Ali Kareem Saeed affirmed the Diyala office’s full readiness to collaborate with civil society organizations and monitoring networks by providing all necessary information and statistics to support transparent and effective implementation of the awareness campaign.
