EIN Network Holds Its First Coordination Meeting with the Electoral Commission in Maysan as Part of the “Democracy and Transparency” Project

Maysan – Tuesday, April 29, 2025

On the morning of Tuesday, April 29, 2025, EIN Network Coordinator in Maysan held a coordination meeting with the Deputy Director of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) office in Maysan, Mr. Muhannad Hussein Ghanem. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Ali Shbeeb Muheibes, Head of the Media and Public Communications Division, as part of the preparations for the implementation of the “Democracy and Transparency: Empowering Civic Engagement and Media Freedom” project.

The meeting focused on introducing EIN Network and its upcoming activities in the governorate. It also witnessed the participation of Mr. Haider Abd Falhi, Coordinator of Shams Network in Maysan.

Discussions included the formation of the sub-committee in the governorate and emphasized the importance of cooperation and partnership between the Electoral Commission and civil society organizations. For his part, Mr. Muhannad Hussein Ghanem reaffirmed the Commission's full readiness to cooperate and coordinate continuously with the partner networks throughout the electoral process. He expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by EIN Network and the other networks in supporting the Commission’s work and promoting transparency and civic participation in the governorate.
