Shams, EIN, and Tammuz Networks Discuss Cooperation with the Electoral Commission in Nineveh to Implement the “Democracy and Transparency” Project

As part of the “Democracy and Transparency: Empowering Civic Engagement and Media Freedom” project, the Coordinator of  Shams Network in Nineveh Governorate, Mr. Yasser Al-Hamdani, held a coordination meeting with the Director of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) office in Nineveh, Mr. Farhan Al-Maamari, in the presence of Mr. Omar Al-Dabbagh, representative of EIN Network, and Ms. Layla Hadi, representative of Tammuz Network.

The meeting, held at the IHEC office in Nineveh at 1:00 p.m., focused on discussing joint cooperation mechanisms to implement the project’s activities. The parties agreed on a framework for organizing the forums related to the project in the governorate. Mr. Al-Maamari expressed his full support and affirmed the Commission’s readiness to provide all necessary facilities to ensure the project's success.

Additionally, an extended meeting was held with Mr. Sufyan Al-Mashhadani, Head of the Media Department at the Nineveh IHEC Office, during which further steps were agreed upon to coordinate media and implementation efforts for the project.

This cooperation reflects a growing partnership between the Electoral Commission and civil society organizations to promote transparency and active participation in the electoral process.
