The Ein Network for Election Monitoring and Democracy conducted a series of specialized trainings on election monitoring, with the participation of a number of young monitors from the governorates of Mosul, Kirkuk, Basra, Erbil, Baghdad, and Karbala. These trainings were organized within the framework of the “Enhancing Media and Democracy” project, funded by the European Union and implemented in cooperation with the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA).
The trainings aimed to empower young monitors and strengthen their capacities in monitoring the upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled for 11 November 2025. The sessions covered various themes focusing on the concepts and mechanisms of election monitoring, the development of field and electronic monitoring tools, as well as building participants’ skills in report writing, qualitative observation, and the use of modern technologies to enhance the accuracy and quality of monitoring data.
These efforts come as part of the Election Monitoring Coalition’s ongoing work to promote transparency, integrity, and accountability in the electoral process, while encouraging the active participation of young people in election observation as a vital component in ensuring the credibility and sustainability of the democratic process in Iraq.
