Director of Najaf Election Office Meets Representatives of the Election Monitoring Networks Alliance

Mr. Yasser Ammar Tweij, Director of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) Office in Najaf Governorate, received a delegation representing the Alliance of Election Monitoring Networks, in the presence of Mr. Ahmed Radi, Head of the Political Parties Department, and Mr. Haider Muttawar, Head of the Media Department at the Commission.
During the meeting, Mr. Tweij welcomed the delegation and emphasized the important role played by the networks within the alliance, namely: the EIN Network, Shams Network, and Tammuz Organization. The representatives of the alliance presented an overview of the participating networks and their upcoming plans.
Mr. Tweij praised the significant efforts made by EIN, Shams, and Tammuz in previous election monitoring processes and welcomed the initiative to form the alliance for the current electoral cycle. He also expressed his full support for the alliance’s work and confirmed his personal presence—alongside the heads of the Political Parties and Media departments—to oversee the monitoring process.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to hold the first meeting of the alliance’s subcommittees on Monday, May 19, 2025, to discuss coordination mechanisms and joint efforts with the Commission in the upcoming phase.
